In this tutorial we learn how to install mtdev on CentOS 8.

What is mtdev

mtdev is a stand-alone library which transforms all variants of kernel MT events to the slotted type B protocol. Install mtdev on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install mtdev using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install mtdev

Install mtdev on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall mtdev on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the mtdev package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove mtdev
