on CentOS 8.
What is mozjs52
SpiderMonkey is the code-name for Mozilla Firefox’s C++ implementation of JavaScript. It is intended to be embedded in other applications that provide host environments for JavaScript. mozjs52 52.9.0 2.el8 x86_64 6.6 M mozjs52-52.9.0-2.el8.src.rpm baseos SpiderMonkey JavaScript library https MPLv2.0 and MPLv1.1 and BSD and GPLv2+ and GPLv3+ and LGPLv2.1 and LGPLv2.1+ and AFL and ASL 2.0 SpiderMonkey is the code-name for Mozilla Firefox’s C++ implementation of JavaScript. It is intended to be embedded in other applications that provide host environments for JavaScript.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install mozjs52
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install mozjs52.
Install mozjs52 on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install mozjs52
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install mozjs52
Install mozjs52 on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.

How To Uninstall mozjs52 on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the mozjs52
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove mozjs52
