In this tutorial we learn how to install monitorix on CentOS 8.

What is monitorix

Monitorix is a free, open source, lightweight system monitoring tool designed to monitor as many services and system resources as possible. It has been created to be used under production Linux/UNIX servers, but due to its simplicity and small size may also be used on embedded devices as well.

We can use yum or dnf to install monitorix on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install monitorix.

Install monitorix on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh
