How To Install lrzsz on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install lrzsz
on CentOS 8.
What is lrzsz
Lrzsz (consisting of lrz and lsz) is a cosmetically modified zmodem/ymodem/xmodem package built from the public-domain version of the rzsz package. Lrzsz was created to provide a working GNU copylefted Zmodem solution for Linux systems.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install lrzsz
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install lrzsz.
Install lrzsz on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install lrzsz
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install lrzsz
Install lrzsz on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall lrzsz on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the lrzsz
package we can use the following command:
