How To Install libvpx on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install libvpx on CentOS 8.
What is libvpx
libvpx provides the VP8/VP9 SDK, which allows you to integrate your applications with the VP8 and VP9 video codecs, high quality, royalty free, open source codecs deployed on millions of computers and devices worldwide. libvpx 1.7.0 8.el8 x86_64 854 k libvpx-1.7.0-8.el8.src.rpm appstream VP8/VP9 Video Codec SDK http BSD libvpx provides the VP8/VP9 SDK, which allows you to integrate your applications with the VP8 and VP9 video codecs, high quality, royalty free, open source codecs deployed on millions of computers and devices worldwide.
We can use yum or dnf to install libvpx on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libvpx.
Install libvpx on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install libvpx using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libvpx
Install libvpx on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install libvpx using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libvpx
How To Uninstall libvpx on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the libvpx package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove libvpx
