How To Install libvmmalloc-devel on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install libvmmalloc-devel
on CentOS 8.
What is libvmmalloc-devel
The libvmmalloc library transparently converts all the dynamic memory allocations into persistent memory allocations. This allows the use of persistent memory as volatile memory without modifying the target application. This sub-package contains libraries and header files for developing applications that want to specifically make use of libvmmalloc.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install libvmmalloc-devel
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libvmmalloc-devel.
Install libvmmalloc-devel on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install libvmmalloc-devel
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install libvmmalloc-devel

To uninstall only the libvmmalloc-devel
