In this tutorial we learn how to install libusb on CentOS 8.

What is libusb

This package provides a way for applications to access USB devices. Legacy libusb-0.1 is no longer supported by upstream, therefore content of this package was replaced by libusb-compat. Install libusb on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install libusb using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install libusb

How To Uninstall libusb on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the libusb package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove libusb
