How To Install ksystemlog on CentOS 8

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install ksystemlog on CentOS 8.

What is ksystemlog

This program is developed for beginner users, who don’t know how to find information about their Linux system, and don’t know where log files are. It is also of course designed for advanced users, who quickly want to understand problems of their machine with a more powerful and graphical tool than tail -f and less commands.

We can use yum or dnf to install ksystemlog on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ksystemlog.

Install ksystemlog on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install ksystemlog using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install ksystemlog

How To Uninstall ksystemlog on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the ksystemlog package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove ksystemlog
