How To Install ipmctl on CentOS 8

ipmctl is Utility for managing Intel Optane DC persistent memory modules

Utility for managing Intel Optane DC persistent memory modules Supports functionality to Discover DCPMMs on the platform. Provision the platform memory configuration. View and update the firmware on DCPMMs. Configure data-at-rest security on DCPMMs. Track health and performance of DCPMMs. Debug and troubleshoot DCPMMs.

We can use yum or dnf to install ipmctl on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ipmctl.

Install ipmctl on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install ipmctl using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install ipmctl

How To Uninstall ipmctl on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the ipmctl package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove ipmctl
