How To Install icewm on CentOS 8
icewm is Window manager designed for speed, usability, and consistency
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install icewm on CentOS 8.
What is icewm
IceWM is a window manager for the X Window System (freedesktop, XFree86). The goal of IceWM is speed, simplicity, and not getting in the user’s way. You can install minimal version of IceWM without all optional dependencies sudo dnf install icewm-minimal-session –setopt=install_weak_deps=False
We can use yum or dnf to install icewm on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install icewm.
Install icewm on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install icewm using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install icewm
Install icewm on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall icewm on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the icewm package we can use the following command:
