In this tutorial we learn how to install hexedit on CentOS 8.

What is hexedit

Hexedit shows a file both in ASCII and in hexadecimal. The file can be a device as the file is read a piece at a time. Hexedit can be used to modify the file and search through it.

We can use yum or dnf to install hexedit on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install hexedit.

Install hexedit on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install hexedit using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install hexedit

How To Uninstall hexedit on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the hexedit package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove hexedit
