How To Install gssdp on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install gssdp
on CentOS 8.
What is gssdp
GSSDP implements resource discovery and announcement over SSDP and is part of gUPnP. GUPnP is an object-oriented open source framework for creating UPnP devices and control points, written in C using GObject and libsoup. The GUPnP API is intended to be easy to use, efficient and flexible. gssdp 1.0.5 1.el8 x86_64 59 k gssdp-1.0.5-1.el8.src.rpm appstream Resource discovery and announcement over SSDP http LGPLv2+ GSSDP implements resource discovery and announcement over SSDP and is part of gUPnP. We can use yum
or dnf
to install gssdp
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gssdp.
Install gssdp on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install gssdp
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install gssdp
Install gssdp on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall gssdp on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the gssdp
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove gssdp
