In this tutorial we learn how to install gnupg2-smime on CentOS 8.

What is gnupg2-smime

GnuPG is GNU’s tool for secure communication and data storage. This package adds support for smart cards and S/MIME encryption and signing to the base GnuPG package

We can use yum or dnf to install gnupg2-smime on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gnupg2-smime.

Install gnupg2-smime on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install gnupg2-smime using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install gnupg2-smime

How To Uninstall gnupg2-smime on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the gnupg2-smime package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove gnupg2-smime
