How To Install gmp-devel on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install gmp-devel on CentOS 8.
What is gmp-devel
The libraries, header files and documentation for using the GNU MP arbitrary precision library in applications. If you want to develop applications which will use the GNU MP library, you’ll need to install the gmp-devel package. You’ll also need to install the gmp package. gmp-devel 1 6.1.2 10.el8 x86_64 187 k gmp-6.1.2-10.el8.src.rpm baseos Development tools for the GNU MP arbitrary precision library http LGPLv3+ or GPLv2+ The libraries, header files and documentation for using the GNU MP arbitrary precision library in applications. If you want to develop applications which will use the GNU MP library, you’ll need to install the gmp-devel package. You’ll also need to install the gmp package.
We can use yum or dnf to install gmp-devel on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gmp-devel.
Install gmp-devel on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install gmp-devel using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install gmp-devel
