How To Install gdbm-devel on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install gdbm-devel
on CentOS 8.
What is gdbm-devel
Gdbm-devel contains the development libraries and header files for gdbm, the GNU database system. These libraries and header files are necessary if you plan to do development using the gdbm database. Install gdbm-devel if you are developing C programs which will use the gdbm database library. You’ll also need to install the gdbm package. gdbm-devel 1 1.18 1.el8 x86_64 66 k gdbm-1.18-1.el8.src.rpm baseos Development libraries and header files for the gdbm library http GPLv3+ Gdbm-devel contains the development libraries and header files for gdbm, the GNU database system. We can use yum
or dnf
to install gdbm-devel
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install gdbm-devel.
Install gdbm-devel on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install gdbm-devel
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install gdbm-devel
Install gdbm-devel on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall gdbm-devel on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the gdbm-devel
