How To Install fprintd-pam on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install fprintd-pam
on CentOS 8.
What is fprintd-pam
PAM module that uses the fprintd D-Bus service for fingerprint authentication. fprintd-pam 1.90.9 2.el8 x86_64 28 k fprintd-1.90.9-2.el8.src.rpm appstream PAM module for fingerprint authentication http GPLv2+ PAM module that uses the fprintd D-Bus service for fingerprint authentication.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install fprintd-pam
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install fprintd-pam.
Install fprintd-pam on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install fprintd-pam
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install fprintd-pam
Install fprintd-pam on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.

using yum

How To Uninstall fprintd-pam on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the fprintd-pam
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove fprintd-pam
