How To Install fping on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install fping
on CentOS 8.
What is fping
fping is a ping-like program which can determine the accessibility of multiple hosts using ICMP echo requests. fping is designed for parallelized monitoring of large numbers of systems, and is developed with ease of use in scripting in mind.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install fping
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install fping.
Install fping on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install fping
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install fping

How To Uninstall fping on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the fping
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove fping
