How To Install emacs-terminal on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install emacs-terminal on CentOS 8.
What is emacs-terminal
Contains a desktop menu item running GNU Emacs terminal. Install emacs-terminal if you need a terminal with Malayalam support. Please note that emacs-terminal is a temporary package and it will be removed when another terminal becomes capable of handling Malayalam.
We can use yum or dnf to install emacs-terminal on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install emacs-terminal.
Install emacs-terminal on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install emacs-terminal using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install emacs-terminal
Install emacs-terminal on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall emacs-terminal on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the emacs-terminal package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove emacs-terminal
emacs-terminal Package Contents on CentOS 8
/usr/bin/emacs-terminal
/usr/share/applications/emacs-terminal.desktop
