How To Install ee4j-parent on CentOS 8

ee4j-parent is Parent POM file for Eclipse Enterprise for Java projects

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install ee4j-parent on CentOS 8.

What is ee4j-parent

Eclipse Enterprise for Java (EE4J) is an open source initiative to create standard APIs, implementations of those APIs, and technology compatibility kits for Java run-times that enable development, deployment, and management of server-side and cloud-native applications.

We can use yum or dnf to install ee4j-parent on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install ee4j-parent.

Install ee4j-parent on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install ee4j-parent using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install ee4j-parent

How To Uninstall ee4j-parent on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the ee4j-parent package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove ee4j-parent
