Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install easy-rsa on CentOS 8.

What is easy-rsa

This is a small RSA key management package, based on the openssl command line tool, that can be found in the easy-rsa subdirectory of the OpenVPN distribution. While this tool is primary concerned with key management for the SSL VPN application space, it can also be used for building web certificates.

We can use yum or dnf to install easy-rsa on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install easy-rsa.

Install easy-rsa on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install easy-rsa using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install easy-rsa

Install easy-rsa on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall easy-rsa on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the easy-rsa package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove easy-rsa
