What is e2fsprogs-devel
E2fsprogs-devel contains the libraries and header files needed to develop second, third and fourth extended (ext2/ext3/ext4) file system specific programs. You should install e2fsprogs-devel if you want to develop ext2/3/4 file system specific programs. If you install e2fsprogs-devel, you’ll also want to install e2fsprogs. e2fsprogs-devel 1.45.6 1.el8 x86_64 84 k e2fsprogs-1.45.6-1.el8.src.rpm baseos Ext2/3/4 file system specific libraries and headers http GPLv2 and LGPLv2 E2fsprogs-devel contains the libraries and header files needed to develop second, third and fourth extended (ext2/ext3/ext4) file system specific programs. You should install e2fsprogs-devel if you want to develop ext2/3/4 file system specific programs. If you install e2fsprogs-devel, you’ll also want to install e2fsprogs.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install e2fsprogs-devel
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install e2fsprogs-devel.
Install e2fsprogs-devel on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install e2fsprogs-devel
using dnf
by running the following command:
