How To Install dvblast on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install dvblast
on CentOS 8.
What is dvblast
DVBlast is a simple and powerful streaming application based on the linux-dvb API. It opens a DVB device, tunes it, places PID filters, configures a CAM module, and demultiplexes the packets to several RTP outputs. It supports the new S2API of linux-dvb (compile option).
We can use yum
or dnf
to install dvblast
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dvblast.
Install dvblast on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install dvblast
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install dvblast
Install dvblast on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

using yum

sudo yum -y install dvblast
How To Uninstall dvblast on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the dvblast
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove dvblast
