This package contains the kiwi-overlay dracut module which is used for booting vmx images built with KIWI and configured to use an overlay root filesystem

We can use yum or dnf to install dracut-kiwi-overlay on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dracut-kiwi-overlay.

Install dracut-kiwi-overlay on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall dracut-kiwi-overlay on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the dracut-kiwi-overlay package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove dracut-kiwi-overlay
