What is dracut-kiwi-overlay
This package contains the kiwi-overlay dracut module which is used for booting vmx images built with KIWI and configured to use an overlay root filesystem
We can use yum
or dnf
to install dracut-kiwi-overlay
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dracut-kiwi-overlay.
Install dracut-kiwi-overlay on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install dracut-kiwi-overlay
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install dracut-kiwi-overlay

How To Uninstall dracut-kiwi-overlay on CentOS 8
