What is dnf-plugins-core

Core Plugins for DNF. This package enhances DNF with builddep, config-manager, copr, debug, debuginfo-install, download, groups-manager, needs-restarting, repoclosure, repograph, repomanage, reposync, changelog and repodiff commands. Additionally provides generate_completion_cache passive plugin.

We can use yum or dnf to install dnf-plugins-core on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dnf-plugins-core.

Install dnf-plugins-core on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install dnf-plugins-core using dnf by running the following command:
