How To Install dnf-data on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install dnf-data
on CentOS 8.
What is dnf-data
Common data and configuration files for DNF dnf-data 4.4.2 11.el8 noarch 152 k dnf-4.4.2-11.el8.src.rpm baseos Common data and configuration files for DNF https GPLv2+ and GPLv2 and GPL Common data and configuration files for DNF
We can use yum
or dnf
to install dnf-data
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dnf-data.
Install dnf-data on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

Metadata cache created.
After updating yum database, We can install dnf-data
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install dnf-data
Install dnf-data on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall dnf-data on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the dnf-data
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove dnf-data
