How To Install dhcp-server on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install dhcp-server
on CentOS 8.
What is dhcp-server
DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) is a protocol which allows individual devices on an IP network to get their own network configuration information (IP address, subnetmask, broadcast address, etc.) from a DHCP server. The overall purpose of DHCP is to make it easier to administer a large network. This package provides the ISC DHCP server.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install dhcp-server
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dhcp-server.
Install dhcp-server on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install dhcp-server
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install dhcp-server
Install dhcp-server on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall dhcp-server on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the dhcp-server
