What is dejavu-fonts-common
The DejaVu font set is based on the \u201cBitstream Vera\u201d fonts, release 1.10. Its purpose is to provide a wider range of characters, while maintaining the original style, using an open collaborative development process. This package consists of files used by other DejaVu packages.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install dejavu-fonts-common
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dejavu-fonts-common.
Install dejavu-fonts-common on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

using dnf
