How To Install daxctl-libs on CentOS 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install daxctl-libs
on CentOS 8.
What is daxctl-libs
Device DAX is a facility for establishing DAX mappings of performance / feature-differentiated memory. daxctl-libs provides an enumeration / control API for these devices. daxctl-libs 71.1 2.el8 x86_64 41 k ndctl-71.1-2.el8.src.rpm baseos Management library for “Device DAX” devices https LGPLv2 Device DAX is a facility for establishing DAX mappings of performance / feature-differentiated memory. daxctl-libs provides an enumeration / control API for these devices.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install daxctl-libs
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install daxctl-libs.
Install daxctl-libs on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

Metadata cache created.
After updating yum database, We can install daxctl-libs
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install daxctl-libs
Install daxctl-libs on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install daxctl-libs
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install daxctl-libs
How To Uninstall daxctl-libs on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the daxctl-libs
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove daxctl-libs
