dahdi-tools is Userspace tools to configure the DAHDI kernel modules
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install dahdi-tools on CentOS 8.
What is dahdi-tools
DAHDI stands for Digium Asterisk Hardware Device Interface. This package contains the userspace tools to configure the DAHDI kernel modules. DAHDI is the replacement for Zaptel, which must be renamed due to trademark issues.
We can use yum or dnf to install dahdi-tools on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install dahdi-tools.
Install dahdi-tools on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:
