In this tutorial we learn how to install cups-filesystem on CentOS 8.

What is cups-filesystem

CUPS printing system provides a portable printing layer for UNIX\xae operating systems. This package provides some directories which are required by other packages that add CUPS drivers (i.e. filters, backends etc.).

We can use yum or dnf to install cups-filesystem on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cups-filesystem.

Install cups-filesystem on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install cups-filesystem using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install cups-filesystem

How To Uninstall cups-filesystem on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the cups-filesystem package we can use the following command:
