How To Install cracklib-dicts on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install cracklib-dicts on CentOS 8.
What is cracklib-dicts
The cracklib-dicts package includes the CrackLib dictionaries. CrackLib will need to use the dictionary appropriate to your system, which is normally put in /usr/share/dict/words. Cracklib-dicts also contains the utilities necessary for the creation of new dictionaries. If you are installing CrackLib, you should also install cracklib-dicts.
We can use yum or dnf to install cracklib-dicts on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cracklib-dicts.
Install cracklib-dicts on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install cracklib-dicts using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install cracklib-dicts
Install cracklib-dicts on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.

How To Uninstall cracklib-dicts on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the cracklib-dicts package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove cracklib-dicts
