copr-cli is Command line interface for COPR

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install copr-cli on CentOS 8.

What is `copr-cli`

COPR is lightweight build system. It allows you to create new project in WebUI, and submit new builds and COPR will create yum repository from latests builds. This package contains command line interface.

We can use yum or dnf to install copr-cli on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install copr-cli.

Install copr-cli on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install copr-cli using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install copr-cli

After updating yum database, We can install copr-cli using yum by running the following command:

How To Uninstall copr-cli on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the copr-cli package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove copr-cli
