How To Install collectd-openldap on CentOS 8
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install collectd-openldap
on CentOS 8.
What is collectd-openldap
This plugin for collectd reads monitoring information from OpenLDAP’s cn=Monitor subtree.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install collectd-openldap
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install collectd-openldap.
Install collectd-openldap on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install collectd-openldap
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install collectd-openldap

How To Uninstall collectd-openldap on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the collectd-openldap
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove collectd-openldap
collectd-openldap Package Contents on CentOS 8
/usr/lib/.build-id
/usr/lib/.build-id/f8/32251a6e96033e9acf94124a1408ee67cc2e3c
/usr/lib64/collectd/openldap.so
