Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install codemodel on CentOS 8.

What is codemodel

CodeModel is a Java library for code generators; it provides a way to generate Java programs in a way much nicer than PrintStream.println(). This project is a spin-off from the JAXB RI for its schema compiler to generate Java source files.

We can use yum or dnf to install codemodel on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install codemodel.

Install codemodel on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install codemodel using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install codemodel

Install codemodel on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall codemodel on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the codemodel package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove codemodel
