In this tutorial we learn how to install cachefilesd on CentOS 8.
What is cachefilesd
The cachefilesd daemon manages the caching files and directory that are that are used by network file systems such a AFS and NFS to do persistent caching to the local disk.
We can use yum or dnf to install cachefilesd on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install cachefilesd.
Install cachefilesd on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install cachefilesd using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install cachefilesd

How To Uninstall cachefilesd on CentOS 8
