What is bwm-ng

A small and simple console-based live network and disk io bandwidth monitor. Features - Supports /proc/net/dev, netstat, getifaddr, sysctl, kstat, /proc/diskstats /proc/partitions, IOKit, devstat and libstatgrab - Unlimited number of interfaces/devices supported - Interfaces/devices are added or removed dynamically from list - White-/blacklist of interfaces/devices - Output of KB/s, Kb/s, packets, errors, average, max and total sum - Output in curses, plain console, CSV or HTML - Configfile

We can use yum or dnf to install bwm-ng on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bwm-ng.

Install bwm-ng on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install bwm-ng using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install bwm-ng

How To Uninstall bwm-ng on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the bwm-ng package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove bwm-ng
