In this tutorial we learn how to install bluez on CentOS 8.
What is bluez
Utilities for use in Bluetooth applications - hcitool - hciattach - hciconfig - bluetoothd - l2ping - rfcomm - sdptool - bccmd - bluetoothctl - btmon - hcidump - l2test - rctest - gatttool - start scripts (Red Hat) - pcmcia configuration files The BLUETOOTH trademarks are owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc., U.S.A.
We can use yum or dnf to install bluez on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bluez.
Install bluez on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:
