on CentOS 8.
What is bitmap-console-fonts
The bitmap-fonts package provides a number of bitmap fonts selected from the xorg package designed for use locations such as terminals.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install bitmap-console-fonts
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bitmap-console-fonts.
Install bitmap-console-fonts on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install bitmap-console-fonts
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install bitmap-console-fonts

How To Uninstall bitmap-console-fonts on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the bitmap-console-fonts
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove bitmap-console-fonts

/usr/share/fontconfig/conf.avail/66-bitmap-console.conf
