In this tutorial we learn how to install bacula-libs on CentOS 8.

What is bacula-libs

Bacula is a set of programs that allow you to manage the backup, recovery, and verification of computer data across a network of different computers. It is based on a client/server architecture. This package contains basic Bacula libraries, which are used by all Bacula programs.

We can use yum or dnf to install bacula-libs on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bacula-libs.

Install bacula-libs on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install bacula-libs using dnf by running the following command:

How To Uninstall bacula-libs on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the bacula-libs package we can use the following command:
