How To Install amavis on CentOS 8

Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install amavis on CentOS 8.

What is amavis

amavis is a high-performance and reliable interface between mailer (MTA) and one or more content checkers Mail reliability, portability and maintainability. It talks to MTA via (E)SMTP or LMTP, or by using helper programs. No timing gaps exist in the design which could cause a mail loss.

We can use yum or dnf to install amavis on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install amavis.

Install amavis on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install amavis using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install amavis
