How To Install xguest.noarch on Amazon Linux 2
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install xguest.noarch
on Amazon Linux 2.
What is xguest.noarch
Installing this package sets up the xguest user to be used as a temporary account to switch to or as a kiosk user account. The account is disabled unless SELinux is in enforcing mode. The user is only allowed to log in via graphical login program. The home and temporary directories of the user will be polyinstantiated and mounted on tmpfs.
We can use yum
to install xguest.noarch
on Amazon Linux 2. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install xguest.noarch.
Install xguest.noarch on Amazon Linux 2 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install xguest.noarch
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install xguest.noarch
How To Uninstall xguest.noarch on Amazon Linux 2
To uninstall only the xguest.noarch
package we can use the following command:
sudo yum remove xguest.noarch
