What is net-snmp.x86_64
SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is a protocol used for network management. The NET-SNMP project includes various SNMP tools or setting information from SNMP agents, tools for generating and handling SNMP traps, a version of the netstat command which uses SNMP, and a Tk/Perl mib browser. This package contains the snmpd and snmptrapd daemons, documentation, etc. You will probably also want to install the net-snmp-utils package, which contains NET-SNMP utilities.
We can use yum to install net-snmp.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install net-snmp.x86_64.
Install net-snmp.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install net-snmp.x86_64 using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install net-snmp.x86_64
How To Uninstall net-snmp.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2
To uninstall only the net-snmp.x86_64 package we can use the following command:
sudo yum remove net-snmp.x86_64
