What is libuuid.x86_64
This is the universally unique ID library, part of util-linux. The libuuid library generates and parses 128-bit universally unique id’s (UUID’s). A UUID is an identifier that is unique across both space and time, with respect to the space of all UUIDs. A UUID can be used for multiple purposes, from tagging objects with an extremely short lifetime, to reliably identifying very persistent objects across a network. See also the “uuid” package, which is a separate implementation.
We can use yum
to install libuuid.x86_64
on Amazon Linux 2. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install libuuid.x86_64.
Install libuuid.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install libuuid.x86_64
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install libuuid.x86_64
How To Uninstall libuuid.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2
To uninstall only the libuuid.x86_64
package we can use the following command:
sudo yum remove libuuid.x86_64
