What is `glusterfs-fuse.x86_64`

GlusterFS is a distributed file-system capable of scaling to several petabytes. It aggregates various storage bricks over Infiniband RDMA or TCP/IP interconnect into one large parallel network file system. GlusterFS is one of the most sophisticated file systems in terms of features and extensibility. It borrows a powerful concept called Translators from GNU Hurd kernel. Much of the code in GlusterFS is in user space and easily manageable. This package provides support to FUSE based clients and inlcudes the glusterfs(d) binary.

We can use yum to install glusterfs-fuse.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install glusterfs-fuse.x86_64.

Install glusterfs-fuse.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install glusterfs-fuse.x86_64 using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install glusterfs-fuse.x86_64

How To Uninstall glusterfs-fuse.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2

To uninstall only the glusterfs-fuse.x86_64 package we can use the following command:

sudo yum remove glusterfs-fuse.x86_64
