What is `geocode-glib.x86_64`

geocode-glib is a convenience library for the geocoding (finding longitude, and latitude from an address) and reverse geocoding (finding an address from coordinates). It uses Nominatim service to achieve that. It also caches (reverse-)geocoding requests for faster results and to avoid unnecessary server load.

We can use yum to install geocode-glib.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install geocode-glib.x86_64.

Install geocode-glib.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2 Using yum

Update yum database with yum using the following command.

sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install geocode-glib.x86_64 using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install geocode-glib.x86_64

How To Uninstall geocode-glib.x86_64 on Amazon Linux 2

To uninstall only the geocode-glib.x86_64 package we can use the following command:

sudo yum remove geocode-glib.x86_64
