What is xnbd-client

xnbd-client is:

xNBD is a NBD (Network Block Device) server program, which is fully compatible with the NBD client driver of Linux kernel. It adds extended features to the traditional NBD server:

  • Better performance
  • Support for distributed copy-on-write disks
  • Live storage migration for virtual machines.

There are three methods to install xnbd-client on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install xnbd-client Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
