How To Install vorbis-tools on Rocky Linux 8

In this tutorial we learn how to install vorbis-tools on Rocky Linux 8.
What is vorbis-tools
Ogg Vorbis is a fully open, non-proprietary, patent- and royalty-free, general-purpose compressed audio format for audio and music at fixed and variable bitrates from 16 to 128 kbps/channel. The vorbis package contains an encoder, a decoder, a playback tool, and a comment editor.
We can use yum or dnf to install vorbis-tools on Rocky Linux 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install vorbis-tools.
Install vorbis-tools on Rocky Linux 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install vorbis-tools using dnf by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install vorbis-tools
Install vorbis-tools on Rocky Linux 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh
After updating yum database, We can install vorbis-tools using yum by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install vorbis-tools
How To Uninstall vorbis-tools on Rocky Linux 8
To uninstall only the vorbis-tools package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove vorbis-tools
