How To Install vite on Ubuntu 20.04

In this tutorial we learn how to install vite on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is vite
vite is:
ViTE is a powerful portable and open source profiling tool to visualize the behaviour of parallel applications. Thanks to its scalable design, ViTE helps programmers to efficiently analyze the performance of potentially large applications.
ViTE currently enables the visualisation of traces using the Pajé format (open format, see http://www-id.imag.fr/Logiciels/paje/) and has various functionalities such as exporting a view in a svg format to integrate the results easily in a report, or viewing statistics.
There are three methods to install vite on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install vite Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install vite using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install vite
Install vite Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install vite using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install vite
Install vite Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install vite using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install vite
How To Uninstall vite on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the vite package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove vite
Uninstall vite And Its Dependencies
To uninstall vite and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove vite
Remove vite Configurations and Data
To remove vite configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge vite
Remove vite configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove vite configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge vite
