How To Install veyon-master on Debian 10
Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install veyon-master
on Debian 10.
What is veyon-master
veyon-master is:
Veyon is a software for computer monitoring and classroom management supporting Windows and Linux. It enables teachers to view and control computer labs and interact with students. Veyon is available in different languages and provides lots of useful features:
- see what's going on in computer labs in overview mode and take screenshots
- remote control computers to support and help users
- broadcast teacher's screen to students in realtime by using demo mode
(either in fullscreen or in a window)
- lock workstations for attracting attention to teacher
- send text messages to students
- powering on/off and rebooting computers remote
- remote logoff and remote execution of arbitrary commands/scripts
- home schooling - Veyon's network technology is not restricted to a subnet
and therefore students at home can join lessons via VPN connections just
by installing the Veyon service
Veyon is the continuation of iTALC.
This package contains the veyon-master software. With veyon-master a teacher or tutor can control other machines if they run Veyon’s client service software (package: veyon-service).
There are three methods to install veyon-master
on Debian 10. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install veyon-master Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install veyon-master
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install veyon-master
Install veyon-master Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install veyon-master
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install veyon-master
Install veyon-master Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Debian. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install veyon-master
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install veyon-master
How To Uninstall veyon-master on Debian 10
To uninstall only the veyon-master
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove veyon-master
Uninstall veyon-master And Its Dependencies
To uninstall veyon-master
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Debian 10, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove veyon-master
Remove veyon-master Configurations and Data
To remove veyon-master
configuration and data from Debian 10 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge veyon-master
Remove veyon-master configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove veyon-master
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge veyon-master
